How to Change for the Better

Change doesn’t have to be difficult, but is has to be accomplished for a better life. We all know the right things to do when it comes to eating, exercising, distressing and becoming healthier so what is holding us back? Why aren’t we doing them? Change can be really tough for all us, but we will sink or swim trying get to the other side of the river of change. Everyone has issues: some people are overweight, some people are underweight, some lack energy, have high cholesterol, blood sugar or blood pressure.  Some people are just so stressed out it is tough to get through the week. An easy quick fix to avoid change is to cover things up by resorting to prescription or recreational drugs, but you are only covering up the cause of the problem instead of solving it.  At some point, you have to look at your self in the mirror and know that change begins from the inside and radiates out through your entire being. The results are restoration of health and true wellness.

Crossing the river of changecross the river with 8 Weeks to Wellness

One of my favorite authors, Dr. Joe Dispenza states: “Crossing the river of change requires that you leave the same familiar predictable self— connected to the same thoughts, same choices, same behaviors, and same feelings—and step into a void of the unknown. The gap between the old self and the new self is the biological death of your old personality. If the old self must die, then you have to create a new self with new thoughts, new choices, new behaviors, and new emotions. Entering this river is stepping toward a new unpredictable, unfamiliar self. The unknown is the only place where you can create—you cannot create anything new from the known.” Change is scary, no doubt but we can’t progress or grow without it.

Take a look at yourself for change

Just like in the Michael Jackson song: Be the Man in the Mirror, “I’m gonna make a change, for once in my life, it’s gonna feel real good, Gonna make a difference, Gonna make it right……I’m starting with the man in the mirror, I’m asking him to change his ways, and no message could have been any clearer ……..Take a look at yourself, and then make a change.” These are some very profound thoughts, take a look at yourself in the mirror, and promise yourself that you are going to change your ways. This will be a positive affirmation, and will penetrate all the way down to your inner self.
