We believe in the BIG THREE, as in the big three supplements that every man, woman and child should take. They include:

Vitamin D: Vitamin D3 is actually considered a hormone and is involved in nearly every function of the body. Typically we think of bones strength and drinking milk, but vitamin D does so much more. Upwards of 200 genes are believed to be regulated by Vitamin D, most of which are not involved in mineral metabolism. Essentially every tissue and cell in the body has a vitamin D receptor. Blood levels of vitamin D below 20 ng/mL led to 30-50% increased risk of developing and dying from various cancers (colorectal, breast, prostate etc.) Low vitamin D levels are associated with all-cause mortality and even more pronounced with cardiovascular mortality. Women with blood vitamin D level <12 ng/mL had a 253% increased risk of colerectal cancer. Highest levels of vitamin D consumption correlated with a 50% lower risk of breast cancer. Children receiving ~2000 IU of vitamin D daily had 78% reduced risk to development of type I diabetes. Vitamin D lowered BP to normal levels. Low blood vitamin D level is associated with depression, autoimmune disease, osteoarthritis, increased susceptibility to infection, even postulated as a cause of seasonal cold and flu.

Recommended Dosage: 1,000; 2,000, or 5,000 IUs (We sell D3 1000; D3 2000; & D3 5000)

Omega 3 Fatty Acids: There are approximately 50 trillion cells in the human body. Every single cell membrane is made up of a fatty acid, therefore Omega 3’s aka fish oils, are part of every function of the body. They are necessary for human health but the body can’ t make them — you have to get them through food. They play a crucial role in brain function, as well as normal growth and development. Omega 3’s are also powerful anti-inflammatories. So if you suffer from any condition that ends in ‘itis’ like arthritis, gingivitis, colitis, dermatitis, then omega 3’s are for you. Symptoms of omega-3 fatty acid deficiency include fatigue, poor memory, dry skin, heart problems, mood swings or depression, and poor circulation. Alzheimer’s risk has been show to be lower on Omega 3’s as well. Because fish sources can often be contaminated, rather than eating tons of fish each week, we recommend taking a fish oil supplements.

Recommended Dosage: 1,000 – 6,000 milligrams per day (We sell Omegagenics EPA-DHA 500 enteric coated; every two capsules is 1,000 mg)

Probiotics:  Probiotics most commonly in the form of acidophilus, is also called friendly flora. It is a beneficial bacteria for the gut. Unbeknownst to you, your gut is swarming in bacteria. If the bacteria is good for you, aka friendly, then it products antibodies that greatly enhance your immune system. It is a little known fact that 70% of your immune function is found in your gut. If your gut begins to get overwhelmed with bad bacteria, ie bugs that shouldn’t be in there, then you will get sick and your immune function will suffer. This can lead to a host of symptoms including generalized fatigue, frequent UTIs or vaginal infections, ulcerative colitis or IBS, and other maladies of the stomach and intestines. Probiotics are good from infancy through old age and are particularly easy to use because they come in capsule form and can be opened into a powder for ease of use.

Recommended Dosage: We recommend Ultraflora Balance, 1 to 2 capsules per day
